Another amazing day in segovia

Sooo why not start off my day with a 5 mile run around the city that ended up in the hills looking over the castle and all of segovia? Also it rained yesterday so all the flowers were blooming. I need to figure out how to upload pictures on here.

After my long run, which felt like forever with this altitude and jet lag still getting at me. I had a probaly 20 strawberries for breakfast with orange juice. Definitely getting my fruit fix over here. Went to class, and then back home for lunch and siesta. We ate this yummy pasta with peas, corn, tuna, and egg whites nom nom. And ofcourse a baguet. This country is def for me because they drink water like no other.

After my siesta we went to this museum in downtown segovia of this famous painter vincent something..Anyways the museum turned out to be this like craft museum and I felt like I was in elementary school again. We made shadow portraits which were really funny, and had our pictures taken on this picture screen thing. The people there were so nice im pretty sure we were the first americans to ever come there because they kept taking pictures of us and were soooo nice. But im pretty sure spaniards are just really in general.

After that we roamed the city for like 2 hours and got lost and ended up at this restaurant where I got this amazing bread with bruschetta and brie and cheese. And it came with this really cute olive oil bottle. Then me and my friend jamie and jasmine tried to find some free wifi and ate at this bakery that sells cheap pastries that are sooo goooood.
I thought i would get fat here but since im running and walking soo much I think im losing wait somehow.

So i found out my padre owns the butcher shop. So he brings home fresh bruschetta and salami and it makes me never want to leave this country again.

My family is really nice, even though i have only been here for 3 days i feel like ive lived here for a year thats how welcoming and nice they are. I feel so bad that they have to listen to my horrible spanish but i think they like that i atleast try to talk to them.

The coffee is amazing here too, and so are all the really old woman and men that walk around during the day they are so cute and say hola to you. I think i have a more modern family because most of my friends have pretty old grandparents and they eat really interesting foods. But I feel like I still eat pretty interesting stuff at my casa (house) too. I used to think spanish was okay but for some reason ive really fallen in love with the language living here. I think the way they speak it here is a lot prettier than the mexican i hear in the US.

I love how there is fresh fruit and fresh meat/fish on every corner. I feel like in general people live so much better/happier lives here than in the US.

Funny story: I went into the pharmacy today looking for soap and I asked for la sopa. The pharmacist gave me a wierd look and starting laughing.. I guess sopa means soup. I was way off soap is Jabon.

Actually I think my family finds me pretty amusing because they tend to laugh at me when I say something ridiculous like the wrong word. But i really cant blame them haha I would prob laugh too. Today i was trying to explain that im going to madrid this weekend with my friend that her home stay mom is my homestays mom best friend. Somehow turned into them thinking I knew this random girls daughter that was getting married? Took about 15 minutes to explain to them what i was saying...very frusterating!!!

But for the most part the language barrier is getting better and better. Im excited to see where my language will be at the end of this month because im learning so much everyday.

Well hasta luego amigos,

sorry if this blog is kindof boring im not the best writer but alteast you know what im up to!

love linnea
